BISHTALK | CBD & ANXIETY

I now smoke on occasion, mostly socially, but I strongly dislike the feeling of being too high. Smoking did nothing for my anxiety and made me feel like once I was high- that was all I was going to do for the day.

Enter CBD. I found out about Cannabidiol last year, after researching some natural solutions to help me cope with my anxiety. As much as I have my own ways to deal- it wasn't cutting it for me anymore. I wanted to feel a little more in control and a little more chill, without pills. Everything that I read about CBD was positive and had made an impact for the better with those who implemented it into their lifestyle.

CBD is found in marijuana, hemp, and hops but is not psychoactive like THC. The compound is extracted from cannabis plants and is usually found as an oil. I've also seen it in pill form. It doesn't make you high, is highly anti-inflammatory and can treat anxiety, depression, neurodegenerative disorders like dementia, and even has anti-tumoral properties. When I asked around, most people who were familiar with CBD said that it sometimes made them feel heavy, but it was not a high at all. It was relaxing and calming.

I ordered a pen from Select CBD and it quickly became my favorite accessory. The pen is easy to use and super discreet. I started off with just one puff in the middle of anxious thoughts to see if I felt anything. The results weren't immediate but after about 20 minutes I definitely felt calmer than before. It helped to quiet the voice in my head that said: "Something is wrong." The difference wasn't hugely drastic, but enough to keep me using CBD. I began to use it more often in the day- especially when I feel a migraine coming on. Before, I wouldn't be able to be around any light sources as it would be too painful. Now I can actually function during my migraines and don't have to stop to lie down as many times as I used to.

I use CBD almost every day. I don't go anywhere without a pen, and use it in conjunction with my other coping methods. It obviously won't be able to take away my anxiety completely, but it has become a great tool for me. Managing my anxiety is a huge part of who I am, and now CBD is just one of the many options I have at my disposal.
